About BGB

We're a
Homecoming

BGB Wellness Co. is a nonprofit creating healing spaces built by and for Black and Brown women. We believe wellness has to be culturally rooted, real, shared, and deeply personal to actually work.

We're not a wellness brand.
We're a movement.

Our Mission

To build wellness spaces where Black and Brown women can access the healing, rest, and wholeness that's already theirs — no barriers, no judgment, no compromise.

Our Vision

A world where Black and Brown women don't have to fight for access to healing — where rest is normal, bodies are celebrated, and community is the medicine.

The Need

Black and Brown women face disproportionate levels of chronic stress, burnout, maternal health risks, and mental health challenges due to systemic inequities, cultural expectations, and limited access to culturally aligned wellness resources.

BGB fills this gap — healing spaces designed for and by women of color.

"Healing is not a luxury. It's your birthright."

Meet Lala Marie

Lala Marie is the founder and community-centered leader behind BGB Wellness Co. A Black woman, caregiver, and practitioner with deep roots in enablement, training, and culturally rooted program design, she built BGB from a grassroots wellness collective into a California nonprofit.

Guided by purpose, sisterhood, and the belief that healing is a shared practice — she's building something that didn't exist before so that no woman has to search for it again.

Our project interrupts the cycle by expanding neighborhood-based Healing Circles, increasing scholarships, training more women-of-color facilitators, and launching the BGB Digital Wellness Hub to reach women who cannot attend in person.
